Republican representative Chip Roy has spoken out against former South Carolina Governor and current US ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, over her proposal to end anonymous online commenting. Roy argues that this plan threatens free speech and potentially compromises the privacy rights of individuals.

In a recent op-ed for The Washington Post, Nikki Haley proposed ending anonymity on social media platforms to discourage hate speech and promote more civil online discourse. She argues that while people have the right to express themselves, they should not be able to do so without identifying who they are.

In House floor remarks on Wednesday, Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) slammed Nikki Haley’s call to end anonymous online commenting.

I am very glad that someone is finally telling it like it is in these United States of America. They should use our tax dollars like it is coming out of their own wallets!

Shameful how much money we are spending!
