Never in my life has it occurred to me that when I call 911 I want to see someone that “looks like me.”
My home burned down in the Coffee Park fires in Santa Rosa in 2017. Nothing changes in California. When I had a heart attack 2 years ago, 2 tiny little paramedic women arrived and were not physically strong enough to get me on the gurney. So instead of taking me to the ER they sat and held my hand until another paramedic team of men arrived to assist me onto the gurney and take me to the ER. I am 5’10”, 190lbs. Somewhat average.
