Why didn’t the ship drop the anchors to stop the ship until it avoided the bridge???
There are a lot of questions that need answers.
(40-ton ship with cargo stopping on water, with no power. The anchors would not have prevented the hitting of the bridge due to the distance. I agree the reaction was slow but stopping that ship would be like stopping something thrown across ice.
The ship dropped the Port Side anchor before the collision. How could the port side anchor make the ship veer to the right? One would think it would cause drag on the ship toward the left, not the right- unless there was a strong current that pushed the anchor under the ship toward the starboard side. Nevertheless, the anchor wasn’t enough to overcome the ship’s inertia moving forward. And the anchor couldn’t overcome the steering.
Very interesting. I wonder why j Biden said we ( the USA) will rebuild. Why not the owner of the ship, not the American tax payers, or was bidens scrambled mind talking.
