My dad never went to church not in Europe nor when he emigrated to the US, legally because he is an atheist by nature and only goes to church for weddings or funerals. My mom always went to church and her Dr. supervisor knew it and never questioned if she was an actualy member of a church committee or if she joined the communist party. She never brought up politics at work nor at church. She never discussed her religious beliefs at work so her supervisor enjoyed working with her – she was always the highest recommended R.N. on the floor – did great work so she was appreciated. My mom was a very devout an Eastern ORthodox Christian and Bible believer her whole life. So devout Christians could still be found in any communist nation and churches are open in all communists nations but perhaps some like China are in homes, not advertised. A true believer can find a BIBLE and a place to worship EVEN if in CHINA. I talked to people who came from China and this is what they report. That did not bother them but what they came to the US for is free enterprise more opportunity in business, greater salaries, better wealthier housing. They came and the man found a great IT job at a good American company and he and wife with children moved into a nice, large home in the suburbs.

Great story, very enlightening and thanks for sharing. Many people think they are the experts on things they don’t understand. They spawn a new generation of ignorance and the lies and so on. I never knew most of what you stated but I also never tried to pretend I did either. I know what I know, period. Some by education, some by experience, some by current events from the right sources. I am far from knowing the ways of the world. The only time I’ve been outside of the US was to Tijuana – I was born and raised in So. Cal. I also lived in S.F. bay area. I have visited Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and Florida. I moved from CA to TN in 1994 and passed through several states.That’s the extent of my world knowledge. Many of the loud mouths out there probably have even less knowledge of the world than me but spout out their opinions, making themselves look very shallow and stupid. I was very ignorant of our own government and how it worked until I voted for President Trump in 2016, 2020 and again in 2024. I sure am finding out a lot that I was totally unaware of before. Many people just blindly follow someone because they have a D or an R next to their name. I actually pay more attention than I used to. I used to be a Democrat because I liked JFK – I was only in 6th grade when he was assassinated. I have to admit that I didn’t vote many times because I didn’t like who was running. I finally started voting for who I thought was best for the country and it just happened to always be Republican. I finally registered as a Republican after my husband and I and our son moved to TN. That’s probably the problem with many voters. They’re ignorant of who’s who and they vote for who they’ve always voted for or their family has voted for instead of what’s right in their own heart and who’s good for the country. My tax dollars are to hard to come by, to be given to another country, when Americans are suffering here. I mean wtf is wrong with everybody. We help everybody, but putting dollars in corrupt pockets, isn’t helping the Ukranian people, win the war. This war can not be won against a super power, get that through your head. The war needs to end, whether Zelensky likes it or not.
