We have a friend in Denmark. He loves all things cowboy. My husband sent him a nice cowboy hat. It wasn’t brand new, it was just an extra in my husbands extensive collection. When his hat arrived, the post mistress there in his town of Denmark assessed the value of the hat at $400.00 and said he would have to pay a 100% tax to get his hat. My husband wrote the post mistress and informed her that the hat was his, an American’s, personal property and she was to release it immediately to the recipient so she wouldn’t be in violation of holding personal property of an American. Our friend was able to immediately retrieve the hat with no tax. The reason that most families in Denmark only own one car is the Marxist taxation on everything. Everything costs twice the price, due to their taxation.
