re: California. Only the coastal and bay area counties plus Sacramento are blue, the rest of the state is mostly red. The red counties have been trying to split off from the rest of the state for some time (see California 51st State, Jefferson state). This could be interesting if it ever happens because the red counties hold most of the ‘valuable’ resources such as water and power (hydroelectric, wind, & solar). Much of the state’s agriculture is in red counties as are most of the National Parks. Newscum’s electric vehicle mandate will be a nightmare if they can’t generate enough electricity.
