I don’t blame anyone who thinks that taking pictures of children when they’re not involved with or have children at the event is creepy… let’s not forget the times we’re in.
Tbh, it is odd to have a an adult with a semi professional camera that’s probably in the range of $700-$1200 taking pictures and calling it practicing.
As a parent and grandparent, I would be concerned about any stranger taking photos of my children under similar circumstances.
And it wasn’t lost on me that the “photographer” didn’t want HIS picture taken by her, but he insisted on taking photos of her kids because “it’s legal.”
Being legal isn’t the same as being right. Plenty of terrible things are completely legal.
…so you don’t support the 1st Amendment?
I’m not sure if taking pictures of children without the parents permission is legal. That’s why there’s a lot of photos of people where the kids’ faces are blurred out. Children should be off limits unless a parent OK’s it. That has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment, it’s closer to child exploitation.
….F this entitled acting-whore. The law states that there is no expectation of privacy in public, and anything the eye can see…can be recorded. As if some Hollywood prostitute has the moral leverage to tell others not to film kids, when her industry is involved in so much pedophillia? F her. This man’s, and my 1st Amendment right allows for public photography…and this entitled bitch has no say in the matter. They will use…”the kids” as their first excuse, and eventually we will not be able to record in public. F that. And all of you using your kids as a reason to destroy the 1st Amendment can go F yourselves. If you want privacy, don’t bring yourself or your kids into the public domain. If you choose to do so…accept the consequences.
I see both sides of this argument. I truly support the 1st amendment, and back before pedophiles became so prevalent, the actions of this man would not have been unusual or suspicious at all. But what if she noticed that his pictures seemed to be focusing on one particularly cute little girl or boy. He can legally distribute that material to anyone who might be on the move for a little friend, and he can tell the person where and when he took the pictures. Perfectly legal, but enough to upset a parent who, in this age and time, must be protective of their offspring. Definitely two sides to the issue.
