I’m a full time mechanic. I work on new Fords on a daily basis. The quality and problems that I’ve encountered on near new, low mileage Ford vehicles would blow your mind. In 20 years working on cars, I’ve never seen anything like this. America is in for some very dark days ahead.
I bought a 2005 ford f150 extended cab and found out that ford had trouble that the frame rails were rusting out. After 6 years I had the same problem and I washed my truck regularly. That was my last ford. Now I have a new Ram, more power and I don’t have to worry about it rotting down. I also bought a new Lexus for my wife.
yup I sold my last ford last spring. i will never have another one.
Yes the democrats EV’s push did put the final nails in the coffin of the ford company. there stupidity and lack of interest in their products started long long before that.
I owned 1999, 2006 and 2008 ford explorers. all of them were top of the line and all were 4×4. all had their transmissions go out. ford had been making that same transmission since the mid 1980’s. they continued to make in until 2018. over 30 years millions of cars sold and they could not figure out the transmission. Just how little do you care about your products when that is your approach to products.
This is the same company that knew hoe to keep the pinto gas tank from rupturing but it would have cost them $6 to fix it. So burning a few people was cheaper.
This is the same company that could have solved every roll over problem they had by making their axle a inch longer, but they did not.
Don’t get me wrong we can say the same thing to dodge and gm.
We need a law that actually holds the board members and C series managers personally responsible for the problems in their products. Bankrupt those people and leave the factory workers to do their work.
WTF I have a Edge, that I really like, a couple recalls, nothing big, but had them taken care of.
so far nothing major has happened, but i hate to hear there trannys suck, and keep going out, in Explorers. I wanted to get one, but with all the problems, I said screw it, and got my Edge, so far no problems, I’m not a Ford fan, more in to Mopars. Going in for maintenance at ford was a joke, how long does a oil change take? 2hrs lol I won’t go back.
2 hours is a dealer problem. Ford doesn’t have locks on that, it’s universal.
We are on our seventh Explorer and not had any problems other than minor recalls and one bad fuel pump. Our first Explorer was a 1992 and our current one is a 2022.
