When they said give us your poor, etc., there was no welfare system. People came on their own dime and own hardwork to build this nation. For people to compare how immigration worked back in the day to now is beyond ridiculous. There’s no comparison.
The deportations was the only thing I liked about Obama. FYI: My wife is a LEGAL immigrant. She followed all the rules and got bumped for years to get her green card because they were processing people who didn’t follow the rules. They just jumped the line and she suffered, just because she followed the rules. Before you asked how we know that is the reason. The immigration office told us that was the reason.
