It’s so disturbing that YT is flagging this conversation in regard to Jonestown and refers to Wikipedia as a “factual source”.
Jim Jones did drugs, cheated on his wife, was a socialist. Marxist Luther King was an alcoholic, cheated on his wife, was a socialist. Both were responsible for killing many of “their own people”. do NOT be a racist or a hypocrite. The truth WILL set you free (from lies) and liars.
We sent Ft Bragg troops to clean that mess up. 44th Medical Brigade had the worst of it. When our aircraft got there, bloated bodies were all around that place and the unforgettable koolaide bucket. You must remember, it was a week before when Jones made them drink the punch. Once they were bagged, you had to send them over to another processing spot. You could feel the head falling off. It was sad when you knew it was a kid. They didn’t ask to go to Jonestown. It was so hot and the smell was sickening! Fatigue uniforms were issued 3 times a day because of all the gook getting on you. And even though it was hot, you had to wear an Army black rubber gas mask because of the stench. The officers cowered and hid under a dining fly tent, but trying to gaze as if they thought you wouldn’t see them. They wanted nothing to do with the cleanup. It was a waste to take them. I alway’s said, “Why did we send a huge crew down there. We could have had a few teams of guys with mogas cans dousing the bodies and a zippo lighter. That would have been good enough. We didn’t tell them to leave the USA. And we flew them to The Dover AFB Morgue. When the awards for the mission were printed in the Ft Bragg Paraglide. All the enlisted involved in the cleanup were awarded “The Army Commendation Medal”. Those officers sitting under that dining fly? They got the next higher award: The Meritorious Service Medal. “Nice”, and all they did was sit under a dining fly 300 yards away from the job doing absolutely nothing!
